Zhenkun Cao is a PBSB graduate student in the Zhu Lab, co-supervised by Dr. Ruslan Soldatov at MSKCC, focusing on developing novel experimental and computational multiomics approaches for epigenetic lineage tracing.

Zhenkun completed his undergraduate studies at UC Irvine with a dual degree in chemistry and neurobiology and a minor in statistics. He had researched under the supervision of Dr. Vivek Swarup with the main focus of using genomics and single cell transcriptomic data to understand the disease etiology of Alzheimer’s disorder and Autism. He is interested in continuing research in neurogenomics by developing and applying high-throughput molecular profiling approaches to understand neurological disorders and the molecular mechanism underlying the aging process of the brain.
