Xuming is a Postdoctoral Associate at Dr. Shuibing Chen's lab in the Department of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine and a Visiting Scientist at Zhu Lab at New York Genome Center. He obtained his Ph.D. from The University of Hong Kong in 2016. 

His previous research experiences mainly include: derivation of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells from human embryonic stem cells; identification and characterization of genetic alterations that are important for human hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and progression. In Zhu Lab, he is using single-cell multiomics genomics technologies to study gene regulation during stem cell differentiation.
